Frequently Asked Questions

Will you vector my image(s)?
No, we do not offer vectoring of images as a service - this is a time and cost-effectiveness decision for us. Our approach to images is that we like to maintain the integrity of the original art (pencil lines, coloring, etc.), so we prefer to upscale images and make them as crisp as we can this way. This method is most often used even in the Japanese itasha scene. However, there are plenty of other individuals that do great vector work who may be able to help you if you would really like us to use vectored images. We’ll gladly use them to create your designs.

Do you offer print/installation services?
No, we only offer design work - print and installation will need to be done at a local shop in your area. Typically a sign shop or a vinyl shop is what you’d be looking for.

What is your process for getting an itasha design?
This varies from project-to-project, so please feel free to message us on social media or send us an email! We respond most quickly through Facebook. We’re always open for consultations and want to help you as best as we can.

Do you design things other than cars (bikes, motorcycle, etc.)?
Unfortunately, no. We currently want to limit our design services to vehicles only, but are experimenting with motorcycle designs with friends locally. Once we gain more confidence that we can offer the same experience/quality, we may decide to offer this in the future. No promises, though!

How long does a commission take from start to finish?
This is dependent on the project (a hood only vs. a full design, for example). We normally like to give ourselves a few weeks to a month or so to complete designs, but this varies depending on complexity and amount of work needing to be done. We’re just two individuals with day jobs doing this as a side hobby, so we hope you all understand!

When are your commissions open?
We don’t have a set schedule for when our commissions are open - they’re basically on an as-we’re-able-to basis. We will post on Facebook and Instagram when we are open for new commissions. Slots tend to fill pretty quickly, so keep an eye out!

Who should I put on my car?
If you’re asking us this, we recommend that you put some more thought into what you’re looking for/wanting to get done before contacting us. It’s a commitment!

My car is “basic”- can I still get an itasha design done?
The point of itasha is to show your love for your favorite character or series, so whatever car you drive is perfectly fine. There is no requirement that an itasha needs to be “race-y” or “expensive”. So don’t be afraid to move forward with your dream design!
